Living with ALS
Donation protected
Hello all, I am the daughter of a wonderful father who is very hopeful in his healing. My father was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) in December of 2013 and has progressed very rapidly. According to modern medicine, there is no cure and eventually my father may die. My father is a very devout Christian and is believing in God for his healing. It is very hard for me to stay positive so I don't know how my dad keeps that wonderful smile on his face. My mom is the main breadwinner now and I have just recently joined the workforce myself, but we have many expenses related to my dad's illness. My dad knows this and even asked for me to write to Ellen's show lol (Please help get this to Ellen!). My younger siblings will be in school this fall (1 in college) and while we are all away for most of the day, I'd like to be able to hire someone who will be a great caretaker to my dad. As you can imagine, we are stretched very thin and are barely hanging on. Times are very difficult, but we are hopeful and grateful for another day with my dad. I ask that if this story touches you, you please donate. Even if the story touches you and you cannot give at the moment, please share with as many friends as you can. You can email me directly at [email redacted] if you have any questions regarding his condition or know of others who are able to help. Thank you for time. :)
