Our beautiful 2 and a half year old James was diagnosed with a DIPG brain tumour on 17th October. We are currently living in Bristol in CLIC Sargent accommodation but home is Cornwall. After 6 months of being treated with a lazy eye developed head aches and dizziness. Upon receiving the MRI result we were sent in an ambulance to Bristol children's hospital where he went straight into theatre to have a shunt put in his head so that the fluid could flow around his brain. He has since then Had two further operations: a biopsy and then a Hickman line put in (to his chest where drugs are administered and blood taken). We are now in week three of six weeks of radiotherapy. He is also on a trial drug.
My my wife and I are obviously not able to work and my sick pay is £75 a week. CLIC Sargent is providing amazing help but we need to pay bills, a mortgage etc. We are discharged everyday by 10.30 am and have to entertain a toddler! Expensive in a city. Finally Christmas is coming and his 3rd birthday on the 28th of December. Many thanks for taking the time to read this and if you can't help, send prayers for our baby James.
