Live on Nebraska in Honor of Sam

On February 4, 2022, Sam was life-flighted to Children's Hospital after being found unresponsive in his bedroom. At Children's Sam underwent surgery to repair the damage caused by a ruptured AVM. The next morning we found that the swelling was too much for his body to handle and we were told he would not survive. We knew we had to make something good come out of something terrible, so we made the decision to donate Sam's organs. We always knew our sweet boy would make an impact on the world, but we never imagined how. Because of Sam, five people got to continue to live their lives, three children and two adults.

Many people live a long life and still don't make the impact that Sam has made in his short 7 years here on earth. We are thankful for the peace that organ donation has brought into our lives. While the pain of losing our son is still oftentimes unbearable, knowing he lives on in others brings us a sense of hope.
