Little Addy undergoes chemo.

On Easter Saturday 2020, little Adam, just 2yrs old had a trip to the local hospital emergency hospital for what his mother believed was something minor- an ear infection.
Renee, Adam's mum had noticed he present many signs of glue ear. Even off balanced walking.
With so many public holidays surrounding that weekend she was left with no choice to take him to the hospital for treatment.

Once checked over the little rural hospital of Maclean, NSW, knew some further testing was needed. Renee then drove Adam 50mins to the nearest hospital in Grafton NSW. That is where Adam and Renee's nightmare journey began.
After a CT scan, Adam was diagnosed with a brain tumor! 2 inches in diameter and was surrounded with fluid.

On Easter Sunday, Adam's siblings didn't get the chance to wake up to a joyful Easter morning surrounded by family and memories to cherish. Their baby brother was rushed to Brisbane Children's Hospital to speak with specialists.
Due to the Covid19 pandemic this also meant Renee could only get 2 border passes for them both and had to leave her other children behind.

Within the first 48hrs of Adam's diagnosis he had his first operation to release the pressure and fluid off his brain by putting a shunt in.
After a few days of rest Adam also had to have the tumor biopsy.
This was such a tricky operation due to the location of the tumor- right in the middle of Adam's brain, behind his eyes.
The operation took longer than anticipated due to Adam having a small bleed on the brain during the delicate procedure.

The Tumor is benign!!! However due to its tricky location surgery to remove it isn't an option. Adam will have to go through extensive chemotherapy to shrink the tumor and stop it from pressing on vital parts of his brain that causes him to be non verbal, walk off balance, suffer constant headaches, and be fed through a nasal tube, amongst other things.

On Anzac Day, Adam finally got to come home for a little rest and recovery for Adam before they had to make the trip back to Brisbane for more surgery and to start chemotherapy, leaving Adam's siblings home yet again.
However before leaving Renee, as a single working Mum had to pull out all the stops to work hard, ensuring she could afford to meet her needs and expences while away in Brisbane as well as for other children's needs to stay at home under the care of their grandfather.

On Tuesday the 5th early morning, Adam was taken into theatre to have a port put in, prepping him for his first round of chemotherapy.
His first round of chemotherapy was Thursday, 7/05/2020. This did not come without a range of issues within itself from his port been blocked, to the severe nausea Adam was feeling.

I have set this account up to help easy the burden of having to support her children in 2 different states, along with the extra expences and financial security of no longer working.

If you could find it in your heart to donate to this cause it would be much appreciated by Renee, Adam and the rest of their family.
