Literacy Volunteers Needs Your Help

For more than 30 years, Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County has provided individualized, confidential, and free tutoring services in reading, math, computers, life skills, and English as a Second Language to adult learners in our community. As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and a United Way Agency, our purpose is to help reduce the 19 percent illiteracy rate in the state of West Virginia.

Unfortunately, over the past three years, our organization has faced extensive leadership turnover. We now find ourselves in a position of such extensive depleted resources that our continued presence in the Upshur County community is at stake. While we are hard at work on several fundraising initiatives and grant proposals, we need your help now to sustain our operations until more secure funding can be obtained.

When you support Literacy Volunteers of Upshur County, you support the notion that everyone deserves to experience the joy of reading and learning. Our students and our community need our doors to stay open. Any donation you make is tax deductible and there is no amount too small to help.

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you'd like to learn more about our services and operation. Thank you so much for helping us to continue achieving our purpose.
