Lissie Melendez is a beautiful human being who has suffered a tremendous loss. Her 25 year old son passed away tragically in an accident that occurred during a winter storm on Friday March 2nd.
She is currently in Puerto Rico spending time with family, and making funeral arrangements. She will be off work for at least a few weeks as a result. She makes a modest income and she still has 3 children at home that she must provide for.
Her son Jonathan was a courier for FedEx Express and is survived by his wife and two small children who will also need assistance.
We are raising money for the Melendez Family so they don't have to worry about trivial things like rent and other bills during such a trying time. Help out if you would like, but please don't feel obligated to donate. All proceeds will go directly to the Melendez family.
The Hartford Courant reported: "State police identified the man killed by a tree that fell on his car Friday afternoon as a 25-year-old New Jersey resident.Police said Jonathan Rodriguez-Melendez, of Hawthorne, New Jersey, suffered fatal injuries in the accident — weeks before his 26th birthday.
Around 3:35 p.m., a tree fell on a Mini Cooper traveling south on Route 15 between exits 33 and 31, which is the Stamford-Greenwich stretch of the highway. On Twitter, Connecticut State Police initially reported the incident took place at exit 33 in Stamford and Jonathan Rodriguez-Melendez was pronounced dead on the scene."
