Lisa Stanford's Celebration of Life

Donation protected
As many of you may have already heard, the Stanford annual cruise took a turn for the worst on Thursday afternoon.  While back on the ship after an amazing day spent in the Caymen Islands, Lisa suffered some terrifying symptoms resembling a stroke and a heart attack.  She was rushed to the infirmary onboard the vessel and soon after transported to a hospital in the Caymen Islands.  There, Lisa fought, we prayed, and the doctors worked, but it was ultimately a brain aneurysm that took our Lisa from us so suddenly.

As I'm sure you can imagine, the bills are steadily piling up.  The emergency evacuation on Thursday and the time spent in facilities receiving treatment and fighting for her life has already begun to put an immense financial burden on the family.  Not only that but we would love to be able to give her the celebration she deserves.  A party unlike all parties (though we all know that the parties she threw can't be beat), to come together and remember Lisa for all that she was, and to express how grateful we all are for having the chance to have known her.  All we ask is that you give what you can. No amount is too small. We welcome your love, your prayers, your kind words, advice, and all the good karma you hold in your heart.

Please share this with everyone who has been lucky enough to know and be loved by Lisa.  Chances are, those two things go hand in hand.  Those who meant something to someone who meant something to Lisa were automatically considered family.  Her love drew you in, and she had that mama bear instinct, unlike anyone else you know, she would do anything to protect her family.  We all love Lisa for an infinite number of her qualities, her energy, and the pure spirit of her heart. Lisa was a doting wife, the coolest mom you knew, and the best friend had.  If you didn't know her, you wanted to know her, to know that feeling of being loved by her, being cared for by her, it was unlike any other feeling.

We've known Lisa for any number of the irreplaceable roles she played in our lives, and I'm willing to bet that everyone reading this post has also been fed by Lisa at some point in their lives.  You don't leave the Stanfords hungry or sober, Lisa would make sure of that.  So for the amount of time that Lisa spent caring for everybody else, let’s see if we can rally that in return.  Let's celebrate Lisa the way that she celebrated all of us, as if we were the most important thing on this planet, because people coming together under her roof was what made her most happy.  Her family, her friends, and the love that she felt when she was around other people was what she lived for, let's live for Lisa.  Let's love for Lisa, and let's remember her for all that she was in her wild, wonderful life.
