My beautiful Girlfriend Lisa Marie Sopko gained her beautiful purple sparkly wings Sunday March 18th at home with family and friends at her side. The impact that she had on our life we shall never forget. Lisa with an infectious smile and gleaming eyes could warm a room without intention.
This account is being started to assist with final expenses and debt. On behalf of the Family and Myself we'd like to thank You in advance for anything that You can contribute.
Arrangements have already been started with a heavy portion possibly being placed on her already grieving Mother and Step Dad without this fund.
Lisa fought a hard battle with kidney failure, skin disorder and cancer. Her fight and willingness to live was evident to her very last breath.
Her battle here was finalized with a wave goodbye as she left. I firmly believe that her battle was not in vein but to be a testament to others by saying just because they call it terminal "You don't have to lay down and accept it, but stand up and live until You die".
Lisa will live on. My intentions are to set up a Memorial Ride on or around Her birthday Sept 27th, so that others can enjoy fall colors as she did.
Lisa so enjoyed being outside with nature, 2 of Her favorite places to go were Crossroads Village and For Mar Nature Preserve. I will be contacting them to inquire into have a memorial bench placed in her name. (updates to follow)
During her fight with cancer we talked about the treatments and her heart was heavy knowing that what she was going through a child was enduring that as well. I will be contacting Cancer research centers in hopes of setting up a memorial fund that would contribute to research and treatment of Children with cancer to find a cure.
