Lisa OHair

Lisa OHair is a sweet, single mother of a talented, 13 year old daughter and up until last month, care giver to our 90 year old mother.

Several weeks before Christmas, Lisa was becoming short of breath, so scheduled an appointment with her PA, who diagnosed and provided medication for pneumonia.  Receiving no relief, Lisa went to the ER, where a battery of tests were performed and on Christmas Eve, learned the high probability of ovarian cancer. 

After the Holidays, Lisa made a trek to MD Anderson, where the hometown diagnosis was confirmed and many quarts of fluid were extracted from both her lungs and abdomen, to facilitate Lisa’s breathing. 

Lisa is an eighth grade science teacher and has now started chemo; however, she is out of sick days with the school district, so will be docked $300, for each day she is out with her illness. 

At this writing, the medical bills have mounted to $10,000 with still two more chemo treatments and surgeries likely in April.
