Lisa & Neal Spine and Kidney fund

Sooo, our story starts a while back. Neal needed a kidney transplant. Happy day, I was a match. But the universe had a different plan. A kidney, a match, became available and we rushed to the hospital. The transplant seemed to go well and while I was helping Neal recover I was fired because a fiance isn't a family member. We weathered that.

And then things took a turn for the worse. The kidney just died. Apparently this happens more often than people realize.  Emergency surgery and Neal is healing and getting ready to try again. We have been working and healing.

Now to my part...I am having to get a disk fusion, rods and screws...my third due to degenerative disk disease. I had the first surgery when I was 23. The second was in 2015.

They let me know this month that I will need the third surgery on the10th of July, 2017. This was a complete surprise. This one is the last chance, it seems. With so little notice we are scrambling. Since I pay half of the bills and it seems I will be out of work for up to 5 months. We had no chance to save up for this .

With Neal's health issues in the past year we are already just hanging by a thread.

We just need enough to pay my share of the bills. To handle my part for the time I am out of work. We hope we can keep it together so we don't lose everything. We have worked so hard. We have worked to keep our small piece of the world together.

To compound issues I am also having issues which the doctors say are unrelated to my back, with numbness in my arms and 3 fingers on my right hand. I can barely use my hands and have had very limited use of my right arm since March of this year. I may or may not have a torn muscle in my shoulder. The most painful tests ever are the milogram and EMG. Still no answers. During the EMG they could not get the dye to go all the way up my spinal canal... causing me agony and crying frustration.

Now we are here with surgery looming. I just want to have the worry off of me.

It will be 3 months before I can even get cleared to drive. Then intense physical therapy.  It could take a year to heal and I am at risk of my spinal canal tearing open again. Scar tissue is a high risk. As a third surgery, I am a very risky patient. I need warm thoughts and to keep my mind at peace, just a little help to pay the bills.

Thanks for your consideration.
