Thomas Fire: Family Lost Their Home
Donation protected
Colette and her family lost their home, on early Wednesday morning, due to the out of control Thomas fire. They lived in Ondulando. They only had minutes to pack everything and get out of there.
Colette is a teacher. Her husband is an engineer. They have 3 children. They are seeking rental housing as soon as possible. Their sweet friends have offered to help with stuff.
As we look around our own homes, we would need cash to replace some items, pay upcoming bills, have a dinner out, pay for groceries and get supplies to rebuild.
I can't imagine the emotional toll this will take. Think about the things we take for granted. I pull out my pots and pans to make dinner. I know that I have plates, utensils, cutlery, napkins and so much more just to serve food in my own home. Then I need to be able to clean everything for the next day. They do not have any of these things.
We all do not have the exact stuff that they will need. Imagine going to bed at the end of a very hard day. You & I know that we have beds, a TV, a couch, everything that we need to lounge around and sleep comfortably. I take this stuff for granted. I bet you do too.
They need a gift of cash. They need to buy things right now. An insurance payout may not be immediate. However, their needs are immediate.
I set the bar/goal at $5,000. I hope we can surpass it. I didn't want to set our goal with a crazy number. It might scare away donors.
Life is not normal for them. It will not be normal for some time. This is a strong family! They will get through this. They need some of our help as soon as you are able to give. Please don't pass this by without giving a little something. Every dollar will be greatly appreciated.
