Pams Courageous Journey

Donation protected
Pam Spalin is a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend to many.  She lives in Easton, MD with her husband Don and their son.  They have never reached out for help for anything.  Actually they're the ones that were always helping others.   In 2012 she had her first seizure.  Upon a physical examination of the brain, a tumor was found.  Surgery soon ensued to remove the tumor.   She lost her ability to speak clearly and her mobility was limited.   After a long recovery, Pam was unable to work any longer.  She had to stop doing what she loved to do.  She was a Beautician and an Electrolysist who had her own business.  She had many dedicated clientele that she had to say goodbye to.  Due to the fact that she could no longer work, she and her husband lost their home.  Don worked all he could to try and keep the home for his family, but could not do it on his income alone. The struggle only got worse for them.  Fast forward a year and another tumor was found during a routine MRI.  This time it was removed by radiation treatments.  The treatments took every bit of life that she had left out of her.  She did her best to keep smiling and be the Mom and wife she wanted to be.  With Don continuing to work, living expenses were closing in on them.  They moved into a home that needed some TLC.  They did what they could with what little they had and with help from her Dad, with all his love and kindness, they made it liveable.  The finances were only getting worse though,  but they kept their faith in God and kept moving forward the best that they could.  Fast forward again.  Yet another tumor was found.  MRI and CT scan showed another tumor that had not been seen with the 3rd tumor.  This time, it was deep within the brain. Tumor #4.  A fast growing tumor.   After surgery, her pathology report proved her to have  Stage 4 Brain Cancer. (The tumor could not be removed due to the location in the brain).   She has lost her ability to speak clearly now, can not stand on her own and her mobility is getting less and less. Once she is able to come home, she is scheduled for radiation treatments for 6 weeks.  There are days Don will have to miss work to make sure she is able to get to the Cancer Center for her treatments. Plus, she now has to have someone with her 24/7.  Any caregiver understands the hardship this can bring to a family.    Pam is a person that loves life.  She's fun, happy, kind hearted and her family, friends and faith in God mean everything to her.  She would not want her life to be like this.  She was such an outgoing person.  Yet even today, she can still make you smile!  They are in need of financial help.  They both would never ask for anything, but they have searched out and looked elsewhere for help.  They have received some help from their church family and friends which they count as blessings and are very thankful for.   However, they have a mountain of uncertainties that they are facing and need our help.  Thank you in advance for anything you can do for this family in need. Hoping to make everyday as comfortable as possible for Pam.  God Bless!
