Lions Tigers & Bears Employee Needs Help!

Hi, my name is Bobbi Brink, Founder and Director of Lions Tigers & Bears - a non-profit big cat and exotic animal sanctuary in Alpine, California - San Diego County.

 

On April 12th 2022, a truck traveling westbound  on I-8 in El Cajon veered off the highway, down an embankment and crashed into a mobile home. The house that was struck is the home of Tina Emanuel, a dedicated Lions Tigers & Bears employee. Tina, her elderly disabled mother (73), and her daughter (21) have lived in the home for the last ten years. In an instant - they have literally lost everything.

 

Tina’s mother, who has mobility issues and requires a wheelchair and walker to get around, was in the house at the time of impact. She was trapped inside until emergency response crews could get her out. Fortunately, she came out unscathed. Her motorized wheelchair is still trapped in the house, and officials have condemned the building.

 

Tina is a BELOVED member of our Lions Tigers & Bears family! She has never missed a day of work and shows up each day with a positive, can-do attitude, pouring her heart and soul into her job. To say it simply, Tina is dedicated! Now, we are asking all of you to stand up to help one of our own – so we can get Tina and her family back on their feet.

 

Firstly, they need a safe place to call their own – they have temporary housing at the East County Transitional Living Center in El Cajon – however this is only a very interim solution. Tina’s family needs a safe place to call their own ASAP. The family has also lost everything – clothes, furniture, household goods. We want to raise funds to help cover a deposit and the first few months at a new place, and have enough to help them buy what they need to get back on their feet (beds, household goods, clothes, etc.).
