Linux Driver for Focusrite Scarlett Gen 4

Help me bring the newest Focusrite Scarlett (and Vocaster and Clarett!) interfaces to Linux!

Hi, I'm Geoffrey, and I'm the author of the Linux Focusrite Scarlett Gen 2+ mixer driver and GUI.

Back in 2018 I purchased a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 2nd Gen audio interface. While these interfaces work well “out of the box” on Linux, they have extra functionality that is controlled through a proprietary protocol. At that time there was no Linux support for this functionality, but being a curious Linux/programming geek I spent months staring at USB protocol dumps to reverse-engineer the proprietary interface, and developed a Linux kernel driver so any Linux user with one of these could access the full functionality of their device.

Five years later, the driver supports 11 [Edit: now 13] different models of Focusrite Scarlett and Clarett interfaces, and we have a nice GUI as well.

Getting to this point has been a significant investment as it's difficult to develop without the hardware in front of me. Except for a generously donated 4i4 3rd Gen, I've personally acquired one of every Scarlett Gen 2/3 model to develop against and make sure that everything works and continues to work as well as possible.

Focusrite have recently released 3 new "4th generation" models, the Solo, 2i2, and 4i4, and I would like to add support for those. I'm reaching out to ask for your financial support to do this.

Raised funds (from the initial goal of $1,133) will go towards:

Any extra funds raised will go towards purchasing the other remaining Focusrite interfaces which are not yet supported: the Vocaster One and Two [Edit: the Clarett+ 2Pre and 4Pre are now done!].
