Linton Police K9 Program
Donation protected
The Linton Police Department is thrilled to share the beginning of our fundraiser for a Police K9, something that has been absent from the Department for several years, and has been Officer Riley's dream since before starting in Law Enforcement! In order to have success with this program, we will need your support and help!
Our first goal for the K9 is to connect with the community. Secondly we would be using the K9 for narcotic detection. This specific K9 will not only aide the Linton community but will stretch out to neighboring agencies when needed. Currently the Linton Police Department is relying solely on outside agencies when needing K9 assistance. We are proud and happy to return the favor now!
Our ultimate goal for this fundraiser is to collect $12,000. The number one expense will be the actual K9, as well as outfitting the Officers Patrol Car with the correct kennel system needed. Other expenses will include sending the K9 and handler to the necessary training, veterinary care, food and continuous training for the K9 and handler duo. All donations large and small will go directly into this program.
We are calling on the help of everyone in the community in order to lift this program off the ground. It is up to everyone to come together and and make this a success for OUR community. It is very important we begin this now because of current/changing crime trends and the meth and heroin epidemic. This program will impact your community directly and will keep our community safer.
