As some of you are aware, two years and nine months ago I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma Cancer. The cancer has no cure and it has attacked me in many ways. It started by shutting down my kidneys, it then began to cause fracturing in my spine. It has attacked my joints as well. I was on chemotherapy for the last two and a half years. I am no longer under treatment seeing it had no effect. I still have to go to dialysisdue to kidney failure. I go three times a week for four and a half hours.
So my need arises because of the fractures in my spine it is difficult for me to get in and out of my 2008 Ford Taurus. It is difficult to lift my leg over the door well and position myself in the car. I drive very well once I am situated but it is very painful to get into and out of the car. It sits very low and causes more injury to my back. I am seeking to get a vehicle that sits higher and will allow me to sit down and turn into the vehicle without the pain and excess torque on my spine. I was placed on disability two and a half years ago at 60% of my annual salary and that is just about enough to cover my daily living expenses. With all the medical bills, medications trips to the E.R. , scans and other medical expenses I simply do not have the ability to pay for a new vehicle or even a reliable one that will meet my needs. This is why I am reaching out for help with this GoFundMe page. The sooner I am able to get help the better it will be for my back and allow me to keep going on my own. Any help received will be greatly appreciated and you will have my gratitude. It seems like a big goal but as most of us know when it comes to vehicle prices I looking at the lower end but hoping for more.
