Lauren (Sherburne) Kiedrowski [Lindsey Little's sister] writing here...
Many of you have been emaling, calling, or stopping me in the halls at Google, asking me how to brighten Lindsey's day following her surgery [to remove a benign tumor in her salivary gland] and I finally thought of something we could all do for her.
As those of you close to her know the nerves in her face were weakened in the surgery and progress in facial movement has been minimal. It is very frustrating for Lindsey. When she feels like her glowing smile doesn't work the same and look the same right now, she certainly hasn't been feeling her positive, bubbly, social butterfly self.
Obviously there is a major silver lining...she learned the good news that her tumor was benign (non cancerous) the week after we attended a funeral service for our beloved uncle, who wasn't as fortunate, having ended his three month battle with brain cancer. But as you can imagine, it is still hard to look on the bright side when you wake up from surgery with an unexpected outcome and a recovery process that will be more difficult than planned.
So, with so many friends and family and co-workers that love and care about Lindsey who have been wanting to do something or help...I thought long and hard about the one thing she never spends money on...herself. Given her and Bryan running tighter these last three years with two little kiddos and a new Colorado house, she rarely, if ever, pays for herself to get pedicures or massages or her hair done, etc. She spends the extra money they have on her family, her house and experiences with her children.
Lindsey:
You are beautiful inside and out, before, right now, always! We want you to know we all care about you, love you, and are here for you for anything you need.
In the meantime, as you do your best to be patient and positive through your healing, use this "you're beautiful fund" to pamper yourself and take care of you...use it for one of the many alternative medicine options that myself, Mom and others have intro'd you to that don't usually take insurance, like the chiro, the cold laser therapist, the accupuncturist, the reflexologist, etc...or relax and get a mani/pedi, have a massage, have a glass of wine (or 2 or 3), get a babysitter and go on a date with Bryan, or get a babysitter and stay home to draw up a bubble bath, read a book, or take a nap, get a facial, go crazy and get your teeth whitened or a spray tan, take an overnight staycation, or buy a whole new wardrobe...who the heck cares what it is...just do anything and everthing that makes you feel good and reminds you how awesome you are :).
