Linday has been diagnosed with a condition called vagoglossopharyngeal neuralgia. It’s a condition where something is pressing against cranial nerves causing pain and in Lindsay’s case episodes of syncope, heart palpitations, and nausea.
In order to treat her condition, Lindsay is scheduled for surgery on June 13. The surgery is performed by a neurosurgeon and places a Teflon pad between the nerves and whatever is pressing against them (typically a blood vessel, which the doctor believes is the case from what he’s seen on her MRI). The surgery requires a 2-3 day hospital stay, then they will need to wait a week for a follow up post-op appointment to make sure everything is ok.
This is all taking place in Princeton, NJ so they will be gone for about 2 weeks. Jeremy and Lindsay will be driving out there June 9-10 and staying in an air bnb while in NJ. Assuming everything is looking good at the post-op appointment, it’ll just be a matter of healing from the surgery at home (not sure how long that will take).
While they are working with insurance to get as much covered as possible- it is a out of network, and very rare and there is still a financial burden of medical expenses along with travel, food, and lodging.
If you are able to contribute any amount, they would be so grateful. This has been a long journey and they're hopeful and excited for what lies ahead. Your continued prayers and support are appreciated and such a blessing to them.
