Help a Veteran in Need: Support for Transportation

Don protégé
I'm Brady Williams. I've never done this before, but this happened a week or so ago and it's been sticking with me ever since.

I deliver food for a real Italian landmark in our area of Warren, PA. Well, I was on a delivery by our local hospital and right by the train tracks, maybe half a mile from the hospital's entrance. I see him barely getting along. It had to have taken him 45 minutes to an hour to get to the point that he was at. He obviously had breathing troubles; he had fallen and smacked his head and obviously his arm in this picture, pushing a walker on a fairly hot day. I didn't know how far he had to go, but he had like 2 miles left to go. I pulled up past him and pulled over immediately and I just went back around. I was en route to one of my deliveries and asked him where I could take him to. It looked like he had some hamburger buns or something somebody must have brought him. I've never seen someone so thankful for such a kind gesture.

Well, I loaded his walker in the back and got him into the front and took him to his big apartment building. His walker's up behind him in the pictures and I saw he was a veteran and he said he doesn't make over $2,000 a month so he can't afford a loan on a car or they won't give him a loan for a car and his car just blew up. No man that served our country should be treated like this. The one thing that bothered me more was that many people drove by without stopping. I'm not sure of his name but I know where he lives and I believe this man deserves a little bit of our help.

I really don't know what I'm doing; I'm just trying to help somebody else in need. If I had the means, I'd buy him some type of transportation. After all those people who continued to drive by over 45 minutes, restore my faith in humanity and show some humility. Thanks for listening to me. I myself am going through a hard time, but when I look at someone like this, it reminds me to keep pushing forward. You can't go back, only forward, even if it isn't straight, it's forward. Also, sorry about the grammar, I just voice messaged.

I'd like to get the man a down payment or something. In the picture I posted as the primary, I thought this man was going to cry. I know how strong military men are. My grandpa was a World War II vet and my father was a Vietnam vet. The stuff these men have seen, we can't even imagine. Now, when you are slowing down in life, you realize that you're just as mentally tough but the body doesn't want to go with the mind. I even realize that at 42 now. I think everybody needs to look from that point of view. We all need help sometimes. But the ones who need it can't get the help.

The best part of it was when I got back from the delivery and I told my boss and he was extremely glad that I did it. That just shows the reason why I've been working for Napoli's for so long. Good, honest people who always tend to do the right thing regardless of the situation. My boss is extremely fortunate; he's picking up people, giving them rides all the time. Great people are hard to find. It's so much easier to be kind than it is hateful. God bless America!
