Lilly's first walk in years!
Donation protected
Lilly and her sister lived in Juarez, Mexico. They were brought into my rescue partner's clinic in Juarez in a condition so horrific we almost could not believe it and we thought we'd seen everything. They were both so matted and the matts had compacted like concrete, they'd lived like this for years, both covered in ticks and imprisoned in their own hair. Lilly's matts were so bad that she required total anesthization and use of a construction saw to get through the matts on her paws. Once they were removed, it was discovered that the pressure had collapsed all four of her carpals. She walks like a duck and has very limitted mobility. She is in a loving foster in ABQ, New Mexico with her bonded sister and we are having both of Lilly's front carpals repaired so she will be able to stand and walk. Her hind carpals will also need done at a later surgery. Lilly's tail never quits wagging. She volunteers to sit quietly and patiently on the laps of those at a local alzhimers home and has become quite popular there. She always gets excited when the other dogs are going for their walk, but she is currently unable to even make it down the driveway. I am asking those who are able to, to please donate even a little towards Lilly's surgery. Every little bit helps.
