Dear Friends and Loved Ones,
As some of you know, Light has been experiencing various health issues for almost a year. What started as diminished appetite, constipation, fatigue and leg irritation slowly evolved into rapid weight loss, lethargy and debilitating pain. A month ago, taking notice of her shocking physical transformation, we rushed her to the ER near their home in Rincon, Puerto Rico. After undergoing various tests, a CT scan revealed a mass wrapped around her aorta below her sternum and fluid accumulating in her abdomen. A biopsy of the tumor and sample of the fluid was taken and she was given a preliminary diagnosis of Lymphoma.
Ten days ago, while awaiting the official result from the pathology lab, Light slipped and snapped her left femur. She was rushed to the ER again, where she underwent surgery and received a blood transfusion. She stayed in the hospital where it has been confirmed that the cause of her weight loss and broken leg are indeed due to Lymphoma.
After being in the hospital for a month experiencing the cold hospital temperatures, three days laying with a broken leg, an inadequate biopsy, six days of no food or fluids due to a torn throat from intubation, seven days of nasogastric feeding and a chemotherapy recomendation with a 55% chance of success.
We are now in the warmth of our own home with our close friends suppport, healthy food. Hi dose IV Vit C therapy, a part time nurse, a hospital bed and necessary equipment.

Light has been a Ayurvedic healer for over 50 years, devoting her life to serving other. We write to you now because she needs your support in the next phase of this challenging journey. Her medical insurance, thankfully, covers short term hospital care but, as of now, we are looking for contributions to create a fund to be allocated to long term care, medical/complimentary treatments and related expenses.
