Light Up Main Street for Christmas!

For several years visitors and residents of Rockland have been enjoying our world renowned Lobster Trap Christmas Tree.
This year, the Design & Streetscapes committee of Rockland Main Street, Inc. is planning to light up Main Street in other ways to brighten the downtown district by adding illumination on the trees in the parks and along the street. The Lobster Trap Tree will be the starting point for this project, and the lighted natural trees will enhance the overall appearance and ambiance during the winter months.
Your contribution will help provide the necessary funds to pay for the lights and the professional labor to install them. This is a community effort and those of us who live and work in Rockland will benefit from the warm feeling of having Main Street look cheerful, even after Christmas has come and gone, and will serve as one more reason for people to visit and populate the downtown district.
The dollars raised from this effort will be dedicated to cover the cost of the project. We have received a pledge of $500 from an anonymous City resident to kick off the fundraising, and downtown businesses have already expressed their interest in helping out. The total amount raised will determine how many trees we can light this year; the $3,000 goal is the minimum the group needs to make a significant visual impact. More funds means more lights.
Any amount is appreciated, and here are some options for you to consider:

$ 200 - Small Business
$ 300 - Adopt A Tree
$ 500 - Corporate
Our plan is to raise funds through the end of September so that we will know how many lights we can purchase in time to hang them and have everything ready for our annual Thanksgiving Weekend Festival of Lights Celebration.
A production of Rockland Main Street, Inc., the annual Festival of Lights Celebration is sponsored by The Island Institute.
