This is one of our beloved friend Arielle's favorite quotes and right now she needs to see the stars more than ever. We are saddened to share that Arielle's husband, Paul, succumbed to mental illness and took his own life on 8/31/18, leaving her with two young daughters to care for, Harper (7) and Riley (12).
Arielle, an artist, is now the sole provider for her family. As she is self-employed, there is no company disability, pension or life insurance. Your support will help her and her daughters rebuild their lives as a family of three.
From Arielle:
"One week ago mental illness took Paul’s life. It has taken me 7 days to write that sentence. In an instant our entire world was changed forever. The heartbreak is so immense that I have to press my palms into my chest 100 times a day to see if my heart is still beating. My mind is on a constant loop; the days leading up to it, the weeks, the months, the years, the morning of. Searching, searching, searching.. for reason. Could I have done more? Did I do too much? The inventory of everything we tried. The name of every doctor. The beautiful moments and the ugly blended together into grey grief.
'I don’t want to forget his voice, mama.' A sentence so tender that it steals my breath.
We won’t, I say, but Oh God, what if we forget?
I do not know how to do this but I do not have a choice. I promise you that on the other side of this devastation is a war cry. You did not die in vain."
