At Life's Door - a portrait project on mortality

My name is Iris Moore, and I am creating a portrait project based on conversations with people who are elderly, ill, or facing their own mortality in some way. The goal is to ignite and normalize dialogue around death, while celebrating those close to the end of their lives.

   The portraits will be featured in an exhibition in April. The exhibition will include music, poetry, and food, and will be held in celebration of those nearing the end of their lives. The portraits will be donated to the participants or to anyone the participant chooses.

  This is not a project that will create profit for me, but that will hopefully have a positive impact on those who participate and those who witness.
