Lifesaving vet visits for Ronan

Over the past few weeks, my amazing 2-year old cat Ronan has begun to show symptoms of serious illness. He stopped eating and drinking, became sluggish and quiet, developed a poor coat and stopped cleaning himself, had a fever and diarrhea, and more recently developed a distended abdomen.

We took him to the vet yesterday, and she told us apart from some medicine to settle his tummy there is not a whole lot we can do for him without x-rays of his abdomen to reveal what the nature of these issues is. It appears likely that he has an inflamed stomach lining, and without these x-rays and subsequent surgery or medication to control it it seems likely that he won't make it very long.

He won't eat or drink, has become increasingly lethargic and is obviously in pain. Unfortunately I'm unable to afford the x-rays that will determine where to go with his treatment, and I'm terrified of what will happen next without the money to go through with it. 



Before I ask for your help I'd like to talk about why he's so important to me... my family has owned cats for as long as I can remember so when I set out to live on my own I knew I wanted to keep living with a feline friend! Me and my childhood best friend/new roommate set out to find a cat at the shelter to take care of together and came home with TWO wonderful young cats who immediately became best friends.

Over several moves and different events in my life, Ronan remained one of my favorite parts of every day, and was known by everyone who met him as absurdly sweet, always looking for a cuddle and meowing constantly at anyone who would listen. He loves being held like a baby and even having his belly rubbed. 


So I'm trying super hard to help him get better and keep him well, I've been terrified for the past few days that I won't be able to find the money to have him x-rayed and treated until it's too late. All I can do is ask everyone that reads this to consider donating to help him. My heart would be completely broken if I lost him, he's one of the best things that's ever happened to me and to think that I might lose him to this makes me sick to my stomach.
