Life-Saving Cancer Treatment for Valentyna

Donation protected
In November 2019 at the age of 34, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Soft Tissue Cancer (Sarcoma). Everything started with a small sports trauma after run in the park 5 years ago... During these years I had 4 surgeries on my knee, which only brought a temporary relief from pain. I was never given a correct diagnosis up until now. As you can imagine this has been difficult to come to terms with. I am still not entirely sure as I write this today if I have fully accepted my diagnosis. I resisted telling people for a few months and continued my life as normal, partly due to this denial and not wanting to be treated any differently. However, I have come to realize my life will never be the same since the diagnosis...

I was born in a small village North-East Ukraine. I finished school and went to university to study economics. When I was 20 I met my husband, Mike, and two years later I moved to the UK permanently after we got married. I graduated from a local university in 2014 and started working as an accountant for a small family-owned business. I love my job and during the last 5 years, I was taking CIMA exams to become a fully qualified accountant. In 2017 I gave birth to our beautiful son Nicolas. I always was fit and active. I enjoyed hiking, cycling and playing sports. I never smoked or drank excessively and I don't have any cancer history in the family.

Sarcoma is a rare form of cancer that can affect any part of the body, on the inside or outside, including the muscle, bone, tendons, blood vessels, and fatty tissues. Sarcoma diagnoses make up only 1.3% of all cancer diagnoses in the UK and because of this, there were no recent developments in the sarcoma-specific treatments.
I was shocked to learn the sarcoma treatment offered by NHS has not changed in the last 30 years despite its low effectiveness and survival rates. At the forefront are two drugs that do not work very well, Ifex (ifosfamide) and Adriamycin (doxorubicin), which are given to all patients without distinguishing tumor type.

This pushed me to start exploring alternative cancer treatments that have to be funded privately. I fully changed my diet to organic and mainly raw food. Further, I started researching supplements and homeopathic remedies and seeking professional advice regarding my dietary requirements, better diagnostics and available targeted treatments that could aid my recovery. All this doesn't come cheap and put massive pressure on our family budget.

I discovered there are better treatments with higher success rates and the potential for cures such as therapeutic IV infusions (ie, Vitamin C, Ozone, etc.), full-body hyperthermia, local hyperthermia, low dose chemotherapy/radiation, etc. However, the costs for these start at £30,000+. I and my close family are currently looking at ways of financing this through remortgage and personal borrowing but this will not be enough to cover all costs.

I have been convinced by two of my friends to set up this crowdfunding page, so everyone willing to support me and my family fighting this battle can help.

ღYou can help my parents grow old with the only daughter they have

ღ You can help my husband, who already lost his dad and brother to cancer, save his wife

ღ You can help my 2-year-old boy to keep his mum in his life and make family memories he can treasure throughout his life

ღ  And most importantly you can help me to get through this difficult journey and stay in the lives of my family and friends so I can enjoy my life pain- and cancer-free. I would give everything to see my son growing up.

You can help by including me in your prayers, sharing this page with others and making donations through this page.

Thanks for taking the time to read my story and may God bless you all for your help and support!

Best wishes,
Valentina
