Life for Riley

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Ryan Foley and I am starting this campaign for my Dog, scratch that; my best friend Riley.  Riley is an 8 year old Australian Shepard Mix who enjoys chasing squirrels, car rides, and food.  Up until recently.... Actually,  let's rewind a few years before I get to the purpose of this story.

It was July 27th 2012, I made a trip to the Franklin County Animal Shelter.  On this day almost 8 years ago I found my best friend.

Riley had only been out on the floor that day for 5 minutes when I took this video of her.  Riley was found wandering the streets of Columbus, Ohio all alone before she was brought to the shelter.  I requested to meet Riley in the playroom, and to walk her.  As soon as I knelt down to greet this sweet girl she peed all over me as she licked my face with excitement.  It was in that moment I knew I had to bring her home.
I truly believe that Riley and I met by fate.  She has brought such joy to my life, and my family.
Riley is the most loving, caring, and stubborn dog there is.
I love her with my whole heart, and many others do as well!  With such a kind soul living in her canine body she deserves a chance to experience some more time on our earth.
Within the past week Riley has not been acting herself.  If you knew Riley you knew she loved car rides. Like I mean LOVES car rides.  She will hold you to your word for days when you even mention it.  The first signs we noticed was that she was unable to dip her head to get a drink of water.  Riley started to act a bit differently around us that's when we started to notice something wasn't right.  She progressively started to decline after one good day.  Riley no longer got excited to go for a ride, she wouldn't even get up.  She would just stare at us as if she wanted to get up so badly. Then just kind of ignore the thought.  On 3/3/20 after Riley started to have difficulty maintaining the balance in her back legs we knew it was time to go to the ER.  After spending 5 hours at OSU Veterinary Medical Center.  A prognosis was discussed that Riley could be dealing with Hemangiosarcoma.  This diagnosis has led to several diagnostic tests that Riley just can't pay for herself.  I mean she kind of eats, sleeps, and plays for a living!  Sounds like the life, right?  I myself am currently a full-time student in Nursing School, and I work full-time at Mount Carmel East Emergency Department as a Paramedic.   This is extremely difficult for me to ask for help.  I have tried to be the best dog dad that I can, but Riley needs more than the help that I can provide.
I am sharing this campaign to give Riley a chance at her life ahead so that I may provide her with the care she deserves!
Please if you can donate any amount towards Riley's diagnostic test and treatments it would mean a life ahead for her!!

OSU Veterinary Staff left a comment in Riley's papers for me that will forever be read over and over again in my mind.  "Riley is such a sweet girl.'' She truly is!
