LIC Market Team Fund

The Covid-19 outbreak has hit every corner of business an affected most of us in someway already. The restaurant industry has already been particularly hard hit.  In an effort to do our part and keep our staff and community safe and healthy, many restaurants have closed completely or have been following the new guidelines to implement social distancing.  This means we have limited options to stay open for take out and delivery only. Although this has helped, we are not sure how long this will last. Mayor DiBlasio has been considering the "Shelter in place" model that was enacted in the Bay Area and this would certainly mean that restaurants are forced to close. 

I have made it my 1st priority to continue to pay our team but the money will run out. We have had to lay off 25% of our team already and greatly reduced the hours of everyone who is left. 

I am asking for help to support this fantastic group of people who have through no fault of their own been forced to wonder where the next paycheck will come from. This team is intelligent, funny, talented, diverse and all family. They have work tirelessly to build this restaurant into a neighborhood institution. They have been here through tough times in our business and for our community. Now it's time to help them if you can. 

These have been the most difficult decisions we have had to make as a small business. Asking for help feels strange but I don't see another way forward now. The city, state & federal governments are working on proposals to help but we don't know how long that will take or how effective they will be.

We are asking for donations to get emergency funds in the hands of our team so they can buy the basics they need, pay their rents, get access to medications, care for family members and much more.
