Liberation of the Netherlands Exhibition
Donation protected
During the Second World War, Canadians played a pivotal role in not only liberating the Netherlands from German occupation, but also in organizing humanitarian efforts to alleviate suffering and restore infrastructure to Dutch civilians. These actions, undertaken first by individual Canadian troops of their own volition, and later organized by the Canadian military on a larger scale, helped forge the strong friendship that continues between Canada and the Netherlands today.
Our team of four students from the University of Toronto Master of Museum Studies program is designing a thesis exhibition to commemorate and celebrate the upcoming 75th anniversary of Dutch Liberation and the role Canadians played. The exhibition, Freedom and Friendship: Life, Liberation, and Legacy of the Netherlands Campaign will be displayed at the Royal Canadian Military Institute and will open May 5, 2020. We are seeking donations to bring our exhibition to life.
We are looking to raise $4000 to help us cover the costs of the exhibition design, printing, specialized artifact mounts, transportation and loan of artifacts, and installation.
Your donation will help us realize our vision, support students of the Museum Studies program, and honour the actions of Canadians during the Second World War.
