Hello family and friends,
I am doing this fundraiser because my goal is to start a foundation in my daughter's name to help girls from ages 16 to 20 years old. My daughter Noelimar Rivera Leon was a happy, loving, giving, and generous young lady. She was murdered on January 18th, 2015 during a home invasion. She was in the wrong place at the fatally wrong time. Although she was a hard working girl, she had no time to aspire on to going to school because she got caught up in life and everything else we have to deal with... bills and so on. I want to start a foundation to help girls focus and have aspirations in life, help girls who do not have open communications with their mothers. My daughter and I had an open communication on her last years, however there was a time during her teen years that she was unfocused, leaving me with barely anything to work with. It all starts at home, sometimes we as parents, again, caught up in daily life, don't know how to start that communication, and that's where I want to step in and help. My daughter had friends that were pregnant, or had fights with their mothers, or were in abusive relationships and she would take them home with us to help them, that's how good-hearted she was... she was a dear friend. I want to keep that kindness and her need to help alive, along with her name. My goal is to raise $5,000 to get the foundation started. Anything would help, it does not matter how much you can donate, it would mean so much for what I want to start here.
