Help the Pet Healer Commute

My name is Amanda and I am a first year Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care  Resident. I just moved across country (CA --> MA) with my car in July 2014 to start my new residency, and just a few months later, I was hit head on in a collision by someone trying to turn left illegally. Thankfully, I was not severely injured, but my car was totaled. Despite the fact that the accident was declared not my fault by the police, both my insurance company and that of the other driver have been very uncooperative. As a result, my totaled car has been sitting in a storage lot, accruing storage fees, while they bicker back and forth, and they are now refusing to pay said storage fees. Now, while I am about to finally get a settlement (3 months after the accident!!), most of it will have to go toward storage fees, leaving me virtually nothing to purchase even a rickety old car to get me to and from work. If it weren't for my amazing coworker and friend, who lent me her husband's car (he works from home and doesn't use it much), I don't know what I would have done during this time. I'm sure they've just been too nice to ask for it back, even though I have no doubt it has been inconveniencing them.  Sadly, as I am a resident, I get paid very little, so I have not managed to save much since my trek cross country. My hope is to raise just a little bit of money to purchase ANYTHING that runs so I can get the borrowed car back to my amazing friends. Any little bit would help. Thank you for reading this!
