Lets help baby Leyla thrive

Donation protected
On the morning of 07/30/2019 baby Leyla fell ill. She was taken to the emergency room, assessed and released home. However, a mothers instinct never wavers. Mom knew there was something seriously wrong and summoned paramedics. Baby Leyla was transported to a different hospital, worked up and admitted. She was in coma for two weeks and parents were told she was not going to make it with only 5% of survival rate. She was diagnosed with meningococcemia. Most healthy people do not survive this infectious disease. Luckily, baby Leyla’s true fighting spirit took over and she fought for her life. She spent an agonizing 80 days in the hospital and endured countless surgeries. Unfortunately, a team of doctors decided baby Leyla had to have her little extremities partially amputated. It’s such a profound shock for a child to undergo such trauma but Leyla persevered. Her tiny body would eventually heal and she was deemed healthy enough to finally go home.

Baby Leyla has come a long way but still has a ways to go. She will need countless hours of therapy and will have more surgeries in the future. Baby Leyla will be fitted for prosthetics from time to time. These things are essential for her to thrive like all other children her age. Unfortunately, the insurance Industry is not created equal. Her family will have to pay for most of this out of pocket. Leyla is a growing child so while she may be fitted today she will need to be fitted and equipped with new prosthetics again and again with many other supplies, equipment and expenses that insurance won’t cover.

Please help baby Leyla and her family. Any amount that you are able or desire to donate will be greatly appreciated. Please help give baby Leyla the tools to meet her milestones and thrive. She’s truly a living, breathing MIRACLE. Please share this page with as many people as humanly possible! Thank you family, friends and all who share Baby Leyla’s story.
