Lexington Fire & Rescue member Ken Aurigema.

The Brother/Sister Hood of Lexington Fire and Rescue are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Ken Aurigema.

One of our Brother Firefighters/1st Responders is battling colon cancer and is looking at a long battle ahead of him.

Ken Aurigema has been a Lexington Fire and Rescue member for 27 years as an EMT, a 1st responder and Fire Police. Ken had his surgery early August and is now starting his chemo treatments. He has insurance, but it is not covering all the medical bills by a long shot. He has given his life to protecting those in need and taking care of his family, and now he finds himself being the one in need of help. Ken is a valuable member of our department and an essential part of our team.

Besides volunteering his time as an emergency responder, Ken is also a Minister, husband, father, and grandfather to ten.

Ken is self-employed as an electrician, and as he is undergoing his treatments, he is trying to continue to work, but the treatments have been complicated for him, and he is unable to work as much as he needs to.

We are asking for donations to help the family through this tough time.

On Saturday, November 19th, we will be holding a Spaghetti dinner. All proceeds will go to help Ken with his fight. We hope to see everyone on the 19th for some delicious food while supporting a wonderful person.
