Lexi Gutowski

My name is Patty Janusz and Lexi is my 18 year old niece....Lexi has been battling cystic fibrosis and chronic pancreatitis since she was 14. She has had pancreatitis 5 times and has been hospitalized over 10 times for pain. Her gi doctor recommended we take her to the University of Minnesota to see if she is a candidate for the removal of her pancreas, and she was a perfect candidate! She will have her pancreas, spleen, gallbladder and part of her small intestine removed. It's a 12 hour surgery that will then require her to be in intensive care. Thankfully they have insurance through the military, but insurance only covers so much. Due to the long extensive recovery they will have to stay in Minnesota for at least 3 months while she recovers . (They live about 5 hours away in Wisconsin) They are on a wait list for the Ronald McDonald House, but even if they get in there are expenses involved. Kim, her mom, has given up working for awhile to take care of Lexi, so they are trying to survive on one income and A LOT of medical expenses. I am hoping to raise some money to help with the astronomical expenses involved in this life saving surgery. Thank you! Xoxo
