Help Matt Chase fight Leukemia

Shortly after his 26th birthday in mid-April, Matt was having long-lasting pain in his spleen that warranted an emergency room visit. It turned out his spleen was enlarged the size of a football and soon after he was diagnosed with phase three, CML leukemia. Unfortunately, the cancer was caught 6 months after the origination and considered to be in one of the most dangerous phases of multiplication, known as the blast phase. Although this decreased his chances, doctors started treatment immediately in hopes of Matt’s recovery. Since then, Matt has completely readjusted his lifestyle, diet, and daily medical routine, which his oncologist says has contributed greatly to his above average progress. Already, his hard work and positivity have downgraded him to phase two, the accelerated phase, giving us hope that his chances of recovery are good.


Today, Matt is actively taking 2 forms of chemo and several other medicines along with getting weekly blood tests to check up on his progress. These prescriptions do not come cheap and although his health continues to increase, Matt will have to take some of them for the rest of his life. Luckily, he was just approved for health insurance, but the cost of medical bills will still be $25-35k. During a global pandemic full of health risks and financial uncertainty, this had to have come at the worst possible time for Matt. With his health at a high level of risk, family and friends in quarantine are not able to be there for him in person and Matt needs our help more than ever. We want to help Matt focus on getting better and not worry about how he will pay for medicine that he needs to survive. With no job security and dependable health insurance, this will be a tough task for Matt on his own. We’re asking you to contribute anything you can for Matt’s cause. While we know it is difficult times for many people's employment status, anything big or small would help. Please help Matt in his fight with cancer.
