Let's Help Kaylee Emily Pacheco

Donation protected
Four year old Kaylee Emily Pacheco has been in and out of hospitals throughout her life.

At birth, Kaylee was diagnosed with jejunal atresia (intestine issues) and Arthrogryposis Multiplex Congenita (AMC).  After 3 months in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), the jejunal atresia was corrected.

Today, Kaylee still suffers from AMC.  AMC is a rare muscle disorder with multiple joint contractures present at birth that lack normal range of motion. There is no known cause and no cure for this condition.

Kaylee is affected in all four of her limbs resulting in significant limitation of movement in all her body. Kaylee can not crawl, walk, move her arms, hands or fingers, she can only scoot on her bottom, therefore all simple daily tasks require 100% assistance.  Eating, bathing, dressing, using the restroom, playing or moving around all require support from others.

Kaylee also has clubbed feet and has had multiple surgeries to help correct this.  Her last surgery was in February.  She wears AFO's (feet braces) to protect and help her feet from turning in or going back to the clubbed position.

Kaylee must work with the strength and little muscle she has.  She regulary goes to therapy to help work on this.

Kaylee's hobbies include paiting/drawing (with her mouth) or using a device called the "Wrex".

Kaylee is in need of equipment that will improve her way of living.

The Obi,  a robotic dining companion, will help feed Kaylee without the need to have someone feeding her.  This will give her the independent experience of feeding herself.  The Obi costs upwards of $6,700.

Kaylee is also in need of a wheelchair that will help give her the independence to do simple tasks without the added stress on her mother.

Unfortunately, Diana's health insurance will not pay for the Obi or (fully pay) for the wheelchair.

We kindly look for the support of our community to help little Kaylee.  Her mom, Diana Pacheco, has a full-time job and is raising Kaylee as a single-mother.

It really takes a village to raise a child.  We humbly ask for your support to help raise money to get the proper wheelchair and a feeding device (Obi) to assist Kaylee in her everyday needs.
