Let's Support Jon Like He Does Our Students!

Donation protected
Jon Callaway, a special education teacher at Westlake High School, is a man of deep faith who has dedicated his life to the education and advocacy of students with disabilities. He is kind to all, attentive to both his students and their parents, and is a young educator with a very bright future.

Sadly, he and his wife, Sarah, were in a severe car accident on the evening of Tuesday, September 28th during a thunderstorm. Jon was brought into Emergency Trauma and immediately taken to surgery. Doctors performed a bowel resection, removing part of his small intestine and colon. His appendix was also bruised and removed. Jon spent the next several days in Intermediary Care and, as his condition approved, was moved to Medical/Surgical Care.

On Saturday, doctors discovered that Jon also has a fractured shoulder, further limiting his mobility. That same evening, the pain in his abdomen began to increase significantly and, as of this posting, the Callaways are awaiting results on additional CT scans to determine if Jon will need another surgery. Regardless, he will remain in the hospital for the foreseeable days.

The Callaways depend on Jon's teaching salary, as Sarah is a full-time student attending Concordia University's nursing school. This accident will result in financial strains for the family, including, but not limited to, loss of a vehicle, costly medical bills and extended time away from work and school while Jon recovers.

Let's help this beautiful young couple during this trying time. As the parent of one of Jon's students, I pray the generosity of others will help them focus on healing rather than mounting financial burdens.

On behalf of Jon and Sarah, I thank you for your prayers, well wishes and/or donations. They are overwhelmed by the love and support they have already received. God bless you all.
