My best friend has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer. His cancer is inoperable. He and his family have been informed that, with treatment, they may have anywhere from six months to two years together. My friend is suddenly forced
to weigh options for treatment, spend time with precious loved ones, and attempt to enjoy every moment he is given.
He has been a father figure to me for many years. He is the treasurer of my local RC flying club. I proudly work along side of him as the club president. I have come to know that he is the most honest, well respected, compassionate person in my life.
As a club, we had always talked about going to a major RC flying event. Joe Nall is largest RC gathering in the world. It is located at the Triple Tree Aerodrome in South Carolina. This event has been on my friend’s bucket list for quite some time. We swore that if we ever had the opportunity to take the week-long trip, we would want to do it right!
My hope is to do just that... take the trip and do it right! I want to take this week long trip with my friend and some of our other club members.
This trip would require us to travel from Pennsylvania to South Carolina in an RV. Our club members and I want to help him check off an item on his bucket list.
My friend spent his life impacting the lives of others through a career in education. He has mentored countless students and peers with his wisdom and sincerity. He means so much to so many. I want to fulfill one of his life long dreams.
I am looking for help to raise the funds necessary to rent an RV for the week of the Joe Nall event. My hope is to provide my friend with the chance to comfortably experience this amazing event as he fights this terrible disease.
