Let’s kick Testicular Cancer

Back on December 29, 2019 me and my husband found out that he had Testicular Cancer. It was devastating to say the least. We had a consult  in to see the urologist and was able to get him seen within a couple of days to confirm it all. I didn’t want to believe it. Within one week from seeing the urologist he was scheduled for surgery 1/15/20. It went great and we had high hopes that if the tumor was removed his tumor markers would lower and all he would need would be scans every couple of months to make sure he was still in the clear. About two weeks went by we got into see the oncologist and was told with the type of cancer he has and lymph nodes so swollen causing him terrible back pain he needed to start chemo with 4 rounds of it and then another surgery. Seemed liked every time we would go back to the doctors is was more bad news. He had a port a cath put in 2/26/20 and starts chemo 3/9/20. He will do 1 week Monday through Friday for a couple of hours then two weeks off and so on till middle of May. With that being said Matt was the main sole provider for the household and has been out of work since 1/15/20. They told him he would not be able to go back for a couple months and he has no STD. This puts us in a financial hardship with having 3 kids.  I continue to work my home health job and I’m still going to school which I just applied for the nursing program when we got hit with all this. We have to continue to push forward no matter what life throws at us. It will be hard but we can do it. We have a good support system in place if we need help with kids or whatever. If you can donate that’s awesome but even a share and prayers is what will get us through. I will continue to post updates on how he is doing.
