Let’s help Nurse Kareen

In behalf of our dear friend Kareen, her friends are looking for monetary support for her healing and recovery . The proceeds will help her with her with her medical bills that is not covered by her insurance.  This financial assistance will save her home, piled bills and the hardship she’s facing right now while she’s on her way to recovery and ultimately find a suitable job.

Kareen was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2016 at age 44 . It started with a slight weakness on her left side and noticed that her left arm is not swaying more than the right , that brought her to a neurologist .Test shows a-normal brain CT and MRI scans. her neurologist diagnosed her with early onset of Parkinson’s basing from her symptoms.Her movements started to slow down and she would sometimes trip for no apparent reason. She still carried on working a full time 12 hr shift for the next 3 yrs. Kareen though began to struggle to maintain the high level of care as a Cardiac nurse in one of the hospital in Evanston, Illinois.

She is the kind of nurse whose clinical skills result in positive patient outcomes, who instinctively knows what interventions to perform in emergency situations, the kind of nurse other nurses turn to for help and guidance but she   started to lose those skills.

Kareen has weathered many challenges  and    her goal in life is evident in her outlook - just keep on fighting!  She doesn't want to burden friends or family . But now, she is losing control over her own body.

With two young children, a wonderful husband and most of all her deep faith in God keeps her going forward... However, she was dealt with another blow in May 2019 when she was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer.

She bravely faced the prospect of eight rounds of intensive adjuvant chemo. She was about to go on her 4th cycle in October when, immunocompromised, she developed a fever, was hospitalized, then went into respiratory distress and intubated for 2 times in d hospital .  She was hospitalized for 2weeks, then went home to recover before resuming chemotherapy. She completed chemo and had surgery and radiation therapy. She was separated from her employer March 2020. She’s still trying to get back on her feet.

March 2020 when the  devastating world pandemi corona  virus came.   She still strongly holds all the positivities.

While some of her medical bills are covered by health insurance, the financial burden of her medical needs are adding up. Lost her savings and going through financial constraints .

We are reaching out to all of you because we want to let Kareen know that she is not alone in this fight. We are here for her and no amount is big or small. Every penny counts . We know that everybody is going through financial difficulties in this unprecedented time but you can also offer prayers for Kareen’s speedy recovery, strength and good health.
