In the heart of Kliptown, a vibrant township in South Africa known for its rich history and resilient spirit, young Nehemiah Donelle Madondo is redefining what it means to chase a dream. At just 17 years old, this talented soccer player has spent countless hours honing his skills on the dusty streets and local fields, a ball always at his feet. With a twinkle in his eye and a passion that knows no bounds, Nemo (short for Nehemiah) is not just playing for himself; he is playing for his family, his community, and a brighter future.
Growing up in a modest household, Nemo has witnessed the struggles of his mum first hand. A single mum, bringing up 4 children and running a Creche to help other parents be able to go look for work whilst knowing their children are looked after has proved to be hard work, her days start at 4am and finish late into the night. Doing this whilst still supporting her children and their school work and running a household.
Candice his mother, has always encouraged him to pursue his passion for soccer. "She’s sacrificed so much for me," Nemo says. "My dream is to help her out of her situation, to give her the life she deservs”.
This once in a lifetime opportunity has arisen, being asked to play soccer in Croatia on a years contract.
This can be life changing in so many ways - not only playing soccer for Croatia, but he will be on a working visa and this then helps his mother and his siblings as he will be able to provide for them.
I need to raise $15,000 to make this happen. Costs cover air flights, accomodation, working and visa permits, transport, training goods and a contract.
please please if you can contribute - anything will be greatly appreciated ❤️
