Our own Marita Pacheco, the heart ❤️ and voice of our Alma Mater, Carmelitas, needs our help❣️

Who doesn’t know Marita?
Marita is the one that had a dream a few years ago of bringing Carmelitans living abroad together. And it did not stay in a dream... she worked nights & days, spending hours & hours making personal calls to make sure everyone was personally invited to her first organized gathering. People flew in from various states, some even drove 8 hours to attend this event. As many of you have heard, the event was a hit; something we will always remember and carry in our hearts. Almost 150 Carmelitans attended. It was amazing!! Something unseen of ... so many people that shared a common love ❤️ were brought together, by one single person “Marita”. I still recall walking into the park and seeing so many familiar faces, I was overwhelmed with joy. And to much of our surprise, there was Peruvian food catered, and Marita had also made t-shirts & medals for all participants; and if that weren’t a heck of a job she organized “mini olympics” for all of us to have fun - a day engraved in our hearts that will last a life time; and that is how the tradition started - every other year gatherings in Miami. And whom do we owe it all to? Marita herself “maximation totalation ❣️“

Her enthusiasm, her willingness to get the party going, her kindred spirit to get all Carmelitans & friends together, her memorable phrase “Maximation Totalation”, her hours & hours of dedication to planning, organizing, and most importantly making things happen is going thru some medical issues.

Marita needs surgery to deal with some stomach problems that she has been having for a while and day by day get a little more complicated; and if that weren’t enough, other issues seem to come up. The thing is she needs all of our prayers, good vibes, positive thoughts, and now for all of us to pitch in $ to make this somewhat complicated surgery happen (which is causing our “Gordita” terrible discomfort, reason why we aren’t hearing about our next school reunion nor are we hearing much of her lately).

So, as the voice of a group of Carmelitans & friends we are asking the following of you:

Marita has a heart of gold . She is always ready to help, jump in and give the best of herself to make anyone and everyone feel well. She is truly the epitome of the word “friend”.

We love Marita and want to see her being her true self soon. We need our maximation totalation friend feeling well again.
