Let's Help Laura Beat Leukemia

Donation protected
I have known Laura’s father for over 40 years. My wife and I have watched Laura grow into the wonderful, beautiful person she is today.
Laura Nicholson is a bright young lady. In 2010, at 23 years old, she was diagnosed with and overcame thyroid cancer. Even while struggling with thyroid cancer, she always put the needs of her two children first. She was worried her surgery would disrupt the family’s Thanksgiving observance.
Now, she is 31 years old and is a devoted single mom of 2 years. Her two boys, who are now 9 and 11, depend on her. Laura is having a difficult life as a single mother. She has been working a low-wage job in rural Pennsylvania trying to meet the needs of her family, but has had a setback as she has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) with FLT3 inhibitors. This means that she must have a bone marrow transplant.
She is in the 3rd week of a 30 day stay in the Shady Side Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As medical bills pile up, she is working with the hospital staff and her case worker to find out which medical procedures are covered and which ones are not covered under her limited insurance. With the long road ahead, Laura could use some help providing for the daily living expenses of her family as well as non-covered medical bills.
Even with the road she’s facing, she continues to smile and remains upbeat. Please help us provide her with a smoother journey.
