Let's help Karen J, our river "Mom"
Donation protected
As many of you know, Karen has experienced a tough year.
Coming back from the Hiwassee early this year she was involved in an accident that heavily damaged her car. That was repaired. High deductible.
Next her home AC died. Has not been replaced
Shortly thereafter a storm passed over and dropped a huge tree on her house and car. Heavy damage to the house. Her newly repaired car was totalled. High deductible again.
Through this all she kept smiling and paddling with us and being the "river mom" to everyone she met.
Today was the worst. She got a call yesterday that her mom had pneumonia and was critical. She had to rush to Ohio and arrived by her mom's side at 6:30 this morning. She passed at 7:15. Her mom was waiting for her girls to get there before she left this life.
Last minute travel is not cheap. She left repairmen working on her house and her dogs in a kennel. (If any of you would like to dog sit for a while, let me know)
Karen has not asked for help, she does not know I am doing this, but I honestly think cash would help her a lot more than flowers for her mom.
If you have ever paddled with Karen, you know she would do anything for anyone, friend or stranger. Let's show her some paddling love.
