Let's Get Lani Well

On October 10th, 2021 Leilani (Lani) Pomlee-Solar was admitted to Peace Health Riverbend hospital with severe anemia. She was given a blood transfusion due to low levels of hemoglobin and sent home later that evening.
On October 12th, Lani was admitted to Peace Health Riverbend ICU (intensive care unit) with a swollen upper thigh. MRI tests confirmed she has extensive blood clotting and will require a thrombectomy surgery to remove the blood clots.
Lani's thrombectomy surgery should happen October 13th. She's been in the hospital for two days and has undergone several diagnostic and pre-op tests. Lani has a team of specialists in hematology, interventional radiology, gynecology, and pediatrics looking out for her health needs. Because of her severe anemia, treating Lani's blood clots requires special attention and caution. After surgery, ongoing follow-up care will be required in Portland at Oregon Health Sciences University (OHSU).
As always, Lani's amazing mama Meorah Aretina Solar has been by her side. Lani is covered by Meorah's medical insurance, but exactly how much of these unanticipated medical costs will be covered is not clear.
Money raised here helps offset the costs of:
- Lani's unexpected medical bills
- meals during hospitalization and recovery
- any financial loss from Meorah taking time off work to care for her daughter
