Let's get Autumn to the Rome School of Business

Dear, family, friends, teachers, and community members,

First, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this. My name is Autumn Jordan and I am happy to announce that I have been accepted into the Rome School of Business, where I will be pursuing an International Masters in Fashion Management.

I am from Richmond, Virginia, where I completed high school at the Meadowbrook Academy for Developing Entrepreneurs, with honors. Currently, I attend Dominican University of California. I am a graduating senior in Graphic Design and Business Administration, double major, concentrating in Marketing with a minor in Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship, with a 3.75 GPA.

As the second oldest of 6, I have prided myself on being independent and would not ask if I did not have a need. Unfortunately, I am not able to apply my FAFSA or US student loans to a foreign institution and I am responsible to cover the cost of my graduate studies, out-of-pocket. Fortunately, tuition abroad is much cheaper in Italy, than in the states although still an unexpected cost, in addition to everything else I have to cover on my own (i.e. housing, visa application and other relocation fees). The word says, “ask and you shall receive,” and I believe it takes a village.

I am involved in many extracurriculars, I am the president of the Black Student Union and president of the Barowsky Student Association (business). I am a member of the Women's Track and Field team, competing in Division 2 throws (discus, shot put, hammer, and javelin). I also have 2 work study jobs, I am the Social Media & Communications Manager for the Rec Sports program at DU and the Director of Volunteers for the Institute for Leadership Studies.

I enjoy staying busy and keeping my mind active. I often get asked, “how do I do it all” or “when do I sleep?” I firmly believe that being so involved in my many jobs and activities helps shape my discipline and character while gaining hands on experience in marketing, leadership, management, and creative thinking, which will all benefit my future career.

I am not asking for a lot, just a little support to help accomplish my dreams.
