Let's Get Allen to PAX South
Knowing where to start when discussing Allen is a difficult task. He has been an employee of mine... but most importantly, a friend.
Allen came into my life in May of 2014 as a Staff Writer for Gamer Assault Weekly, an online gaming magazine. He has since produced over 100 articles and reviews for the site, has spent hundreds of hours streaming to our Twitch channel, has done his own PR with major publishers and developers, has been successful in securing codes and interviews, has his own streaming channel and does it all with such dedication and happiness. Never have I received a single complaint or worry, just hard work. A hard worker is just one way to describe Allen.
Being in his early 20s Allen has not been dealt a lucky hand. In the past year he has dealt with close family being in and out of the hospital, unable to work, and has taken a position as man of the house caring for his ill mother and younger sister. However, providing for the family on a low wage, working multiple jobs barely keeps the family afloat. Not only is the financial stress intense, the mental stress he endures is to a level I've enver experienced. Yet, he loves gaming and working in games is his outlet and he pours everything he has into it.
Over the years at the website the team has attended multiple gaming conventions across the United States, Canada, and Australia and every convention comes and goes with only a wish to attend from this dedicated soul. When we were organizing PAX South this year he shared he was unable to attend because he was saving money to afford Christmas gifts.
Everyone at Gamer Assault Weekly loves and supports one another - we are more than co-workers, we are family members, with a rich community and we care deeply for each other. So our goal this year is to send Allen to PAX South.
Your support will provide the following:
round trip flight, lodging for 4 days/nights, food
Each donation we get will get us closer to having one of our own with us, at an event. He has never been to a gaming convention so this will be his first experience and we are doing everything in our power to make sure it is one he doesn't forget. Allen is deserving of so much and we hope with you help, this holiday season, he can finally take a break from real life to enjoy the life he loves, in games.
