Let's fix up a park on Maui in Marshall's memory

My name is Steffen Franz and I launched this Go Fund Me because my father, Marshall E. Lippman, a long-time resident of Maui passed away on October 24th, 2020 after a hard-fought battle with Multiple Myeloma. I am inspired to do something community-focused in his honor.
My dad loved Maui and had a great life there. As sad as his illness and passing were, he was in the place he loved and considered his home. I would like to create a physical location where people can visit a memorial and remember him in this place he loved so much.
The money raised from this campaign will fund a plan to help upgrade a brand new Dog Park on the west side of Maui. Our goal is to raise $5,000 to purchase equipment to be donated as a gift in kind to Maui's Department of Parks and Recreation. This donation is restricted to the upgrading of this park in my father’s name. The money will be spent within the next few months on equipment and items that the Department will accept and install. A full plan for the park renovation will be available soon.
We will also produce a small event around the re-opening of the park after it’s renovation. We will invite a few local performers to attend and perform a couple of songs and have a few local folks in attendance as well. We might also produce a live-stream broadcast of this event for the folks who donate to this cause. This will be for friends and family on the mainland who won't be able to attend this event in person.
Given the current situation with Covid-19, we expect that we wouldn’t plan to stage an in-person event until sometime in mid-2021 (at the earliest), and of course, we'll produce any event within the guidelines proposed by the state or local health department at that time.
