Let's Encourage Khothalang

Howzit, Dumelang

Khothalang means "to be encouraged" in Sesotho.

She is 20 years old and is one of the most courageous young women I've ever met, She needs our support, the cycling community, to pay her tuition fees for a Diploma course in Occupational Health and Safety at Mon-Tech Institute in Maseru, Lesotho.

Khothalng is already a role model for young women all over the world to pursue their dreams and never give up.
Let's pull together and pitch in to make Khothalang's dreams for further education and a youth cycling academy for girls in Lesotho a reality.

The amount of 2,000 EUR will cover her tuition costs.
Anything raised over and above will go towards setting up her youth cycling academy.

A letter from Khothalang:

"My name is Khothalang Leuta from Lesotho. I'm known as "the fastest girl in the village" in the Red Bull documentary - The Fastest Girl in the Village

I have been accepted and enrolled for a Diploma Course in Occupational Health and Safety at the Mon-Tech Institute in Maseru, Lesotho.

I've always wanted to study anything that deals with or involves sports to further my career in cycling. I want to show girls that everything boys can do, girls can do too, but the problem is in my country, colleges don't offer such courses.

It became a bit complicated, but his the year, 2023, I came across the course of occupational health and safety at Mon-Tech Institute. I did lots and lots of research and it's perfect! Safety is something to be considered before anything can be done.
Children and everyone who does cycling need to be taught about safety.

I've been dreaming of owning an academy or a big cycling club, especially for girls. After my course and training next year, I will start a small club because a lot of girls are afraid of riding bikes because of the injuries or accidents that are likely to happen. This course will help me reduce the fear they have of cycling as I will be able to give away the knowledge I have from the course . There's also a very good income that can also be as capital to start the club when I get employed."
