Lets do what we can for Anton Rakaj

Anton Rakaj was born on 04-02 1986 in Albania. He emigrated to Italy with his family in 2002.

On November 27, 2009 he incurred traumatic injuries as a result of a car accident. Anton was hospitalized in a coma for a while. After awakening from his coma he was told that he would be paralyzed and he would never be able to walk.
Anton is in daily medication for the rest of his life.

In 2014 Anton had another devastating accident in his house as he was trying to get around in his wheelchair. The injuries from the wheelchair fall result in the amputation of a portion of his leg.

His parents who are living in Albania, have assisted Anton with funds to purchase the medication Anton requires for his continued care. However Anton's parents are elderly and receiving only a small pension and are severely limited in their ability to provide financial assistance.

Their assistance is far short of Anton's daily needs.

Anton has been living in Bergamo , Italy since 2002. While Anton was hospitalized, he was unable to follow up with the necessary governmental renewals to maintain his immigration status.

Anton now lives in a room provided by the local authorities. The kindness of friends, neighbors and local officials who have donated shelter, food and some financial assistance allows Anton to survive in the community. Anton's medication alone costs about 200 Euros per month.

We want to help Anton by retaining a local attorney to try to reinstate his legal immigration status in Italy. If this is successful, Anton would be entitled be a pension of about 980 Euros per month. This will allow Anton to obtain the necessities of housing, food and medication.

Lets do what we can to help Anton with his legal efforts. Anything you can do will be most appreciated.
